(1877, Nebraska); Edward G. (1881, Iowa); and Calvin (1884, Nebraska). Byron worked for the Burlington and Union Pacific railroads, primarily Nebraska. However, he did reside just outside Lebanon, Kansas about 1910-1911. I believe Calvin eventually moved to Denver, Colorado where he died in the 1960s-1970s.

  • The Belzung Family & their Alsatian Heritage  new
In July of 1825, God blessed the union of Ambrosius Belzung and Marie Anne Lindeburg with a son they named Francois Ambrosius Belzung. Francois later married Appoline (Pauline)Rembold, and they subsequently joined 484 other families (mostly Alsatians)and 457 single men that migrated from France to the United States. All of them were recruited by a gentleman named Henri Castro, also of French origin, who promised each family 320 acres of land, providing they would cultivate at least 15 acres and live on the land at least three years. Francois and Apploine chose to accept the offer. They arrived in the USA in February 1857, and located in Castroville, Texas -- named in honor of Henri Castro. They raised one daughter and three sons. The direct decendants of Francois and Appoline have now grown to well over one thousand family members (including marriages). Paul E. Belzung and daughter Wanda Belzung Sheetz, have accomplished considerable research to identify the Belzung ancestry as well as the many desendants that reside in and around the southern part of the USA.
