  • Bell/Beall Family----Yadkin County----Hamptonville NC  new
Cranberry Albea Bell, my great grandfather, b. Oct. 22, 1813 d. Oct 16, 1885, m. Margaret Adelaide Gentry on June 11, 1836, She was b. Dec. 7, 1815 d. Aug. 12, 1908. They had nine children between 1837 and 1860 (US Census of 1850 & 1860), and are buried in Asbury United Methodist Church Cemetary, Hamptonville NC Yadkin County. Zachariah Beall & w. Rebecca Tyson and their son Walter Bell/Beall, Cranberry's father, along with other family members, also the Joseph Albea family group, came from MD to Surry(Yadkin)County NC Abt.1800 via the "Old Wagon Road". There is strong evidence that Ninian Beall, Hugh Riley and later his daughter Nancy Riley m. Isaac Windsor all knew the families of each other in Maryland before Zachariah Beall b. July 17, 1742 and Isaac Windsor b. June 20, 1753 came to Hunting Creek/Buck Shoals area of Surry (Yadkin) Co NC. Descendants of: James B Beall b. 1603 in Largo, Fifeshire, Scotland. • Bell/Davis Bouldin/Whitfield Research Site  new
    * BELL - West Tennessee (eg. Bradford, Milan, Gibson County) * DAVIS - Middle Tennessee (eg. Waverly, McEwen, Dixon, Humphreys County) * BOULDIN - Of area around Abilene, Texas * WHITFIELD - Of area aroud Abilene, Texas descendents of Patricia Ann WRIGHT WILLIAMS JONES (d. 12/29/1997, Phoenix AZ), especially the children of her only daughter, Jennifer ("Ginger") WILLIAMS (d. 1976, Palm Springs CA). Patricia was married to Franklin WRIGHT (m. 1946; d. 1954) and Casey JONES (m. 1955?). The children of Jennifer are from two fathers, as noted below. At the time of her death at age 30, Jennifer was a student at Palo Verde College in Blythe, CA. She worked as a secretary in the Child Development program of PVC, and was highly regarded by her co-workers. Children of her first marriage: * Deanne Lynn STROH (b. 1964?) * Roxanne Renee STROH (b. 1966?) Father: Richard E. STROH (lna (1967) Ontario, OR or San Marcos, TX; his father was Herman STROH. He is NOT the Richard E. STROH of Madera, CA, and there is apparently no relationship in their respective families) Children of a non-spousal relationship: * Patrick Lee WILLIAMS (b. 9/1/1970) Father: Thomas William PERRY (lna (1976) Columbia, MO, married to Margaret PERRY) Jennifer's correspondence with her mother indicated that she was later married to Steven SHEPARD, and lived in Dayton, OR, although this may have been a gloss to protect her mother's morals. The two daughters were (apparently) placed for adoption following the incarceration of Jennifer in Salem, OR (prison? county jail?) on unknown charges. Nothing is heard of them following her release from jail. Later, she gave birth to the son by Thomas William PERRY and then (apparently) married Steve SHEPARD. The son was placed for adoption by Riverside County CA in October/November, 1976, following Jennifer's death (see below). It is known that his adopted mother was a school teacher and his adopted father was an engineer. It is conjectured that they are from Idlewyld, CA (Riverside County). Contact has been made with the (former) Riverside County adoption specialist, who told us that "Little Pat" was in the Riverside/San Bernardino area. She is forbidden by law to divulge his new name, but she offered to get our name to him if possible. This was a year ago, and no word to this point in time. MEDICAL NOTE All of these children are subject to grave health risk (Zollinger-Ellison Syndrome). Their mother died of Z-E complications, as did the grandmother (1997), (and it is believed the) great-grandmother (1951), and great-great-grandmother (1931?). Although this disease is transmitted through the females, male descendents are also at risk. Several Davis/Wright males have died from known and presumed complications of Z-E.

Membership Required Websites

New England Historical and Genealogical Society

The Massachusetts Society of the Cincinnati - Free Database!

The Society of the Cincinnati was established in 1783 by and for the officers in Continental Service. It was organized in fourteen constituent societies, one of which is the Massachusetts Society. Eligibility was based on the officer's length and terms of service.

Membership in the Society of the Cincinnati was extended to the officers of the Continental Army - as well as Continental Navy and Marine officers - who had served until the end of the war, plus those who had been declared no longer needed by acts of Congress and those who had served honorably for three years during the war. Also eligible were the oldest male lineal descendants of officers who died in service. The officers of the French Navy and Army who served with the American Army were also entitled to join.

This database contains information on those Massachusetts officers eligible for membership. Absence from this list does not conclusively exclude eligibility.

The following member profiles were added to the database this week: John Allan, Asa Graves, John March, John Nixon, Benjamin Ray, Edward Seagrave, Josiah Smith, Silvanus Smith, Joshua Thomas, Joseph Washburn, Nathan Watkins, Thomas Weeks, Edward White, Timothy Whiting, and Samuel Whitwell.
